Jamis Ventura Frame sizes

Hi, Im 5ft 11 and a half (not quite 6ft!), so thinking I would want a 56cms frame for a road bike, but I have seen one of the above, the comp model, at a good price, and was wondering if I would be ok on the 54?

Would that be a mega no-no?
I think I am of average proportions relative to my height, no abnormal leg or arm lengths!
