Hi guys,

I've received my Hope matchmakers today ...

Results : It works :)

The Set up

Brakes : Avid Elixir CR
Shifters : Shimano XT 2011 (10sp 770 10sp)
Matchmaker : Hope Tech Shimano XT (also works for XT 08-10, SLX 09-11, Saint 09-11)

Cons :
  • The raw finish is not that great when everything else's black on the handlebar
  • The shifter indicator should be removed due to the lack of space between the brake lever and the shifter. It's not that bad, it save some weight  and you just have to place a cover instead of the indicator, wich is just behind the indicator.

ah, now that is excellent. Have had endless issues getting things in the right place and this might be just the ticket.

    The 'Race' clamps are black

But they won't work with Elixir and Juicy :(, only Hope Tech Clamp does. Not a big deal, I'll anodize them as soon as possible .

Are the Race clamps only for Hope brakes with SRAM/Shimano shifters?

Somewhat surprised that superstar haven't latched onto this idea and started making them for all possible combinations of brakes and shifters in a slection of suitably lurid colours.

Sadly yes. It's a shame because the race clamps looks gorgeous .

Anyway I forgot to do the weight when I open the box but in my hand it was lighter than the shimano clamp.

    It save 79 grammes :

    By removing :
    • XT Indicators (around 23 grammes)
    • Avid Elixir clamp (9 grammes)
    • Shimano XT clamp (around 47 grammes)

That's very geeky to weigh it all but the set-up looks sweet. I might do that too. The raw look is ok for now as it kind of matches your frame.
    Nice. :)
    Many happy trails!

Do they do these for formula brakes and sram shifters? That would totally sort out my RH shifter/brake issue

If they were around I'd also get one but for both left and right

Does anyone know if you could use these with XT shifters and avid brakes but keep the shifter window/indicator?

    Thanks,

Erm, shouldn't you do the weight loss without the indicators (most the 51g 'loss') as you didn't need the matchmakers to remove them!
