afternoon :D i was just wonderin why some wheels are made up of 24/28 spokes instead of the usuall 30 odd ? does it affect the wheel strength at all or is it a lower weight achieved ?

Standard is considered 32 in mtbs

Why can/do they have less? More strength in the rim, more stength in each spoke.

My cross rides have 24 bladed spokes - more material than standard in these so can be off-set by having less.

My old BMX had 48 in 20" wheels - they were very, very strong.
