Replacing integrated headset bearings
I'm a bit incompetent when it comes to mechanics, but would like to have a go at changing my headset bearings. Is this an easy job and am I right in thinking that the steps required are:
1. Remove top cap, stem, spacers,
2. Push out fork (mallet if required?)
3. Remove bearings from frame using screwdriver
4. Clean out surfaces/regrease
5. Replace fork
5. Slide on upper fork bearings, compression ring, shims, cover
6.Replace spacers, stem, top cap, tighten.
Grateful for any assistance.

it all depends on the headset. but a screwdriver should not be needed to remove any bearings."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

If it's just the bearings then basically yes, but without the screwdriver / mallet. Mine came apart without any tools / violence. Bearings should just lift / fall out of the head tube. If you're having to prize them out there's something wrong.
Lower bearing and dust seal should go in between 4 and the first 50 -
Excellent thanks both!0
