Had a skim through a few pages and cant find anything,
I am staying in Dolgellau next month for a couple of days, anybody recommend any routes while I am there to escape for a few hours.

Er, Coed Y Brenin might be a good shout. Consdering its right on the doorstep, then you got Machynlleth a little further south.

If you're looking for natural trails there are tons, but Cadair Iris is a good'un.
