rigid vs suss fork

i,m going to be buying the niner air 9 carbon, and i.m not too sure weather to go for rigid or suss fork,

i will be on the road a lot and doing light trails and be on the beach also, so i was just looking for any advice out there, i know you can have lock out but would rigid be fine for what i need,

    for that you do not need any suspension.

    Beach ?
    i would have as little a possible in the moving part department with sand
