Hi all
I will be staying over in Porthmadog next week and wondered where is good to eat? Must be child friendly too if possible.

Thanks y'all

Who cares about food when you're in Porthmadog?!?! Surely you'll be going to Coed Y Brenin?

I was there a few months back, but we pretty much just ate in.
Out with the old, in with the new here.

There were so many roadworks between Porthmadog and Coedy a few weeks ago that you'd probably have been better off catching a train to an airport and flying to the alps to do some riding, honestly, it was the most maddenignly insane set of roadworks ever.

There's a pretty good kebab shop in Port, down a back street off the roundabout.
And I'm sure I've heard that there's good food in Portmeirion, the italian "village" (where they filmed the Prisoner), which is nearby.

    Except you can never leave.

That is a downside, yes. At least it's very pretty, I hear.

The Y Hen Fecws bistro and the Passage to India on Lombard St are both nice and the Bamboo house on High St is nice as well. Not got young kids so dont know about child friendly the Passage to India is a bit small to be child friendly when its busy..

    .

This, well there used to be, 3rd exit I seem to remember, on the right , was an excellent kebab last time I went there. I also remember in Porthmadoc that there used to be a rush of kids to the open fronted chippy on the main street at around 8pm every Friday evening, I dont know why mind.
