Will 26mm bars fit into a 22mm stem?

I know the answer is in the question, but this comes into the category of, 'worth a punt'.
There's a set of bars, on Ebay, I'm quite sweet on.
They are listed as clamp diameter 26mm, my clamp measures up at 22mm.
I usual work to the principle of get it close enough then Mr Hammer will MAKE it fit, although is a habit I'm trying to get out of.

Measure the outside circumference of your existing bars, then divide by pi (3.14...)
- they'll either be 25.4 or 31.8, 'standard' or 'oversize'
If you've seen some listed on eBay as 26mm or 25.8 then they're really probably 25.4 - seem to be lots of people confused by this, but most modern bars, excluding fancy Italian exotic stuff from several years ago, is ISO standard size of 25.4 or oversize 31.8
