Canyon road bikes - any feedback?

I am going to upgrade the summer steed in the next few weeks and am seriously considering the Canyon CF series (along with a number of other bikes). To be more precise, the CF 7.0 which uses the Campag Athena groupset alng with Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheelset.
There's no questioning the value for money but I would be really interested to hear any feedback on quality of ride (esp. longer distances, 50+ miles as I would use for sportives), frame fit and quality of service from Canyon. I've read some good copy in the mags, but have the usual nervousness of buying direct having always supported the LBS. They can have the aftercare though....
