I have a set of 2002 Mavic Cosmic Elite wheels. I have had them since new and they have been fantastic. They have had their bearings changed but the freehub body is showing serious signs of age. I was led to believe that it was a 10mm allen key that undid the freehub body but this seems not to be the case. This leads me to worry that the M10 freehub body that I have been advised will fit these wheels will in fact not. Does anyone have any ideas what freehub body does and where I can get one from.

Take them to your LBS, let them have a look, and they can probably supply you the body.

Back in 2002 it's possible you may have the previous free hub, the M9

    Look at the pdf's on http://www.tech-mavic.com/tech-mavic/te ... /logon.php. Username mavic-com Password dealer

I have some older Cosmics too, can't remember which year the M10 came in, but mine are definitely the earlier model, come apart by removing axle with usual cone spanners then freehub body comes off with allenkey from non drive side

I've had a google around and seems it's not possible to get new M9 free hub bodies, but bearings are standard and dead cheap from bearing factors
