Fignon
Has there been anything to mark his passing at this years Tour or have I missed it?
The man is the youngest post war winner, France's last GT winner and was part of the greatest Grand Boucle ever.

It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

I haven't seen anything official but there was a huge Fignon poster/banner thing on the road side, hanging off a load of hay bales on stage 6.0

Its kinda sad that he seems to have been totally forgotten.

The route presentation in the Autumn opened with a video montage of his career, which was also the opening of the TV coverage (i.e. before stage 1) on French TV.0

Perhaps eventually they'll put up a memoriam. It looks like a tribute was made at last year's Vuelta in the Pyrenees.0

I recall reading that they ( his wife, Tour officials, previous riders etc) are naming a street after him. It's near the finish line on the day the tour goes to Montpellier (Sun July 17th).
I love this photo and it's juxtaposition -

He lived the last few years of his life in the Pyrenees. His passing was well marked here.
