Shimano Deore's are great, never failed me and are super cheap. Used to use them front and rear but now I only use one on the rear because I run a 9mm QR on the front now but I miss the reliability of the Shimano (it's a Superstar, similar to Hope and many others) since it gets really stiff to open and close when it's really mucky when the Shimano's don't do this0

That is cheap! Though the M510 deore has alloy levers so a bit lighter.0

Deviating slightly....
Salsa skewers... are they the same type of lever as the shimano? or are the the useless type like hope?0 -

I have a box full of useless, broken, flexxy, self opening, rusty, corroded skewers from the likes of Hope, Mavic, Superstar, Woodman and Salsa (and several own brand types). I keep getting blinded by shiny crap that doesnt work and end up going back to my trusty XT and Deore skewers.
Why wont Shimano make a QR seatpost clamp getting sick of cleaning the muck out of seatpost clamps. Surely the worst possible place to stick an open lever mechanism is right in the line of all the crap flying off the back wheel. Often considered trying to cut down and rethread a Shimano skewer and see if I can get it to fit a seatpost clamp.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -

£25 more than I'd pay lol.0

and if they are anything like the seat post clamp they are very very poor at doing what they are meant to do."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

External cam? Nooooooooooo, you couldn't pay me to use them!
Shimano enclosed cam in whatever flavour you can afford/justify"Coming through..."0 -
£35 each XTR skewer
But seriously guys who actually cares about how "bling" your skewers are this is as sad as the dustcap thread imho ! That little I care that I fitted the sun ringle ones despite now remembering the deore's I still have and will be changing to right now
edit: just fitted and I'm glad to report does not look rubbish and I should still be able to pull trail riding ladies !0 -
I have bought the Shimano ones on Sonic's recommendation.....£8.55 inc P & P was too much to say no to!0
-
Just bought the same shimano deore ones a couple of days ago, but can only close the rear in the down position
The cove handjob frame at the rear has a shroud at the top of the drop out not letting the q/r handle close fully.
Do shimano do different ones to over come this?????
PS- I would post a picture but not sure how to...
