I'm looking to buy the Nerve XC 6 but the sizing is stopping me ordering right away.

Went through their configurator on the web site and it suggested a medium frame.

I'm 6ft1.5 (186cm) and spoke to their telephone people about it who said there was a known issue specifically with the Nerve range and their software tool not giving good outputs.

Interested in any comments about sizing from people who have these bikes - i'm guessing L frame will be OK but I'm on the borderline of XL. I guess the L will be a bit quicker steering so as long as i'm not cramped up in that then it should be ok.

Any help/comments around sizing or the bikes themselves appreciated before I send approx £1300 into the ether

No idea on specific sizing but given the choice between slightly small and slightly large I'd take slightly small anyday.

I have a medium framed XC and it's just right for me and I'm 5'9" so I'm guessing you'd need a Large frame, the frame calc worked well for me I just got someone to help with all the measurements to be sure they were right

I'm 6ft 2 and got a large AM 8.0 as recommended on the calculator and it's fine.

Thanks for the help Guys. I bit the bullet yesterday and ordered the L size Nerve XC 6.0

The only range affected by the sizing anomaly from their web site bike size caluculator is the Nerve XC. Confirmed by their support people and another discussion thread.

Site is showing 5 weeks to delivery - cant wait to get it.

I've just bought a nerve XC 6.0 and was toggling between small and medium every 10 minutes for about a week.

I'm in between 5'8" and 5'9" but with a fairly short inseam - 31". In the end I went for the small as I don't see the point in buying a bike that's too big, when it's so easy to adjust reach with a stem and layback post. Which is exactly what I've done - stuck a 90mm stem on and a layback post. The bike now fits fine and I do have some standover room which I think has saved my nuts once or twice already when I've had to jump off the saddle quickly when a slow technical bit has caused me to virtually stop.

Although I've not tried a medium, I've a fear that if I'd opted for that size then the standover wouldn't have been adequate. I know there's more to fit than standover - but riding slow technical sections sometimes requires me to stop and bale forward from the saddle to a standstill and I like a bit of comfort clearance.

Incidentally, my old bike is a 17" rockhopper and side by side there are almost identically sized. I would say that from bikes I've sat on, a 16.5" canyon is similar to other brands 17"-18".

at 6'1 you will be just fine with a L.

I'm 6'3, had a go on a Nerve MR in Large, was a tad small for me but not dramatically, ended up getting a Lux MR in XL which is just right.

I'm 6,2" and opted for the L. It feels perfect for me so I would expect the L will be fine for you too.
