Giant Reign 2010

Hi
I'm in need of a bike for around about £2k that will do everything - main rides are UK trail centres but also some freeride and occasional trips to the Alps. My last frame cracked after landing backwards off a smallish jump and I am keen to buy a brand that this is unlikely to happen again.
I have been looking at the Giant Reign 2010 model as a strong possibility, both the 0 and 1 variations seem to have good kit for the price and the long travel shock that I am after. I believe WMB gave the Giant Reign 2 four and a half stars, wondered if anyone owns any model of this bike or could advise for/against purchase, or offer any alternatives.....
Thanks folks
J

why not consider second hand?
That will bring both Lapierre spicy 516's and trek remedy 8's from 2010 into your price range (and the 2011's if your lucky enough to find one)
I bought a trek remedy 9 second hand and put a few extras on it which would have brought the bike out at a full retail cost of about £3500
all in now the bike has cost me £1650 inc new hope bb, new frame bearings, new headset, new wheel bearings, new brake pads, new chain, new cassette, new tyres, new gera cable inners and outers (and I wore out most of that stuff).
If I had just gone out and bought a trek remedy 9 2010 it would have cost £3400 straight off and well over another grand to get it to the spec of my slightly older one.
Personally I really like the look of the 2011 lapierre spicys so in a few years I'll grab one of ebay for about £1000 and build my components onto it and flog whats left.
