edited July 2011 in MTB buying advice
Ok have recently purchased my new MTB and remembered my last MTB after a year or so alot of the screws went rusty looking and kind of spoiled the cosmetics of the bike....
Is there someone that does perhaps a whole set of Anodised screws nuts and bolts for specific makes/models of mountain bikes OR im guessing i can buy seperates...i.e. alun screws for the Easion stem, etc etc
anyone point me in the right direction..

just want to keep the MTB from looking to shabby a year or so on!

Some bolts are stainless steel for strength. E.g. stem pinch bolts, caliper mounting bolts, etc. I would not replace these with aluminum bolts as they are not nearly as strong.

Token makes what they call a bling kit in various colours that you can buy from CRC. I think they make good margin on this if you know what I mean:

You can also buy single bolts from Pro-Bolt if you know the bolt spec:

I purchased some red bolts from TorontoCycles. They have a big selection and $5 shipping internationally but I wasn't too impressed with mine - they were more pink than red.

Or you could clean/maintain the bike properly to avoid rust?

    Just an idea

Pro-Bolt are excellent - never had any problems with their bolts. Use ti in high stress areas if you want to throw cash at it, stainless is cheaper, and alu in low stress areas (mechs, shifter and brake lever clamps, chainring bolts).

I've never really heard good things about the finish on their bolts though, some of the ones I've seen have been very inconsistent.

R2bike.de do good ones, expensive though, unless you want green (which Pro Bolt don't do) I'd not look further than them!
