spd cleats and pedals

hello ive bought a pair of spd shoes few weeks ago now ive purchased some spd cleat and pedals when ive gone to fit cleats to shoes there is nothing on shoe to fix it to just two slots am i missing something ???? the alan key bolts need some sort of insole bracket to fix to yes ??? do i need to purchase one if so where ??? cheers pj

    there should be a metal plate to mount them to.

    What shoes? what pedals? and you did get some instructions?

    the shoes are spd shimano the trail type shoe

    pedals shimano m520

    there wasnt any plates when i bought the shoes !!!

    The cleat nuts should have come with your shoes.If not which looks the case contact the seller.
