looks good, wth some interesting innovation like

DuoTrap seamlessly integrates the computer sensor into the frame to measure speed, distance, and cadence with no added aerodynamic drag. It works with all the major ANT+ wireless technology players, including Bontrager, Garmin, Powertap, and SRM.

It's hardly a big deal though is it? You could get a cheaper bike of the same spec and afford a garmin 500 or 800 with what you save and not need to worry about measuring wheel speed with magnets. They're decent bikes for sure but you're paying a premium for them over something like a Planet X, Canyon or Rose.

I've just bought a brand new Trek 6.9 SSL 2011 for £2400, no comparison to a Planet X.

I have a 2011 5.9 and love it. I only paid £ 2,700 (not as good as Designman's price but still 20% off).

I had to pay extra for the duotrap though. AFIK it is an extra cost, the mounting hole in the stay is just that, covered by a blanking plate.

I am also not sure I would regard it as a reason to buy the bike though. You still need a wheel magnet and cadence sensor on the crank. Having said that I do get a lot of comments from club members as to how sexy the built in sensor is. :?

i saw a mates trek madone the other day, its an old one without the duotrap and he has a bontrager computer on it. double sensors. plus Di2 which obviously wasnt integrated. the whole bike just looked a mess.

"interesting innovation" you mean shameless rip-off of someone else's idea and marketed as being their own?

Trek = dull, dull, dull - the cycling equivalent of a Nissan
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Maybe you should try a Trek, don't judge it from the outside (never judge a book from it's cover) I've had many comments from club members saying how nice it looks, and its amazing to ride. Plus you have the option to design a madone to your own specifications.

Try a Trek? I used to build and sell them and ridden enough bikes to know a good one from a bad one. A friend is even sponsored by them but that still doesn't change my mind. Finally, 2 words Greg Lemond - I wouldn't want to put my money with a business with such poor ethics.
