..... click out, do you put your left heel in or your left heel out, your right heel out or your right heel in or do you simply pull up?

Just curious.

I'm left heel out then right heel in.

both heel out, you could hit the frame or wheel if you clip in towards the bike

You maybe could, but I don't.

RIght heel out, then left heel out.

It's not possible to read the OP without getting the hokey-cokey in your mind.

Me? Left heel out, unclip, lean on that side.

    Left heel out.

Left, because if I'm stopping in traffic I prefer to put my foot down curbside, and I prefer to push off with my right leg anyway.

If I'm unclipping totally, then I follow up with a right heel out.

Yes had a panic moment at speed where I did right heal in, straight into my spokes.

Haven't moved on to SPDs yet (still the flats the bike came with) but, being left handed, and, so, left footed too, I'm thinking that I'll tend to unclip right foot and lean that way. Probably not the best way round on the road but I think it'll be quite unnatural to go the other way.

Of course, my left leg tends to be better to take off from too.

    Any other lefties with SPDs?

right heel out first when stopping and right foot down

when starting out, I clip in with the left foot first. I always unclip with the right foot when I see a possible problem.

+1 - Left first (i.e. stopping at lights etc.) then right (if I'm getting off!)
