i am on the lookout for new bike the bike i have had for the last 2 years is a 2008 gt averlanche 2.0 used it for 2 year with no problems but just feel its time for new bike and something abit better. thinking of spending around the 1k mark rele like some of the cube models. i will be using the bike for mid range trails noting with big drops ect and everyday road and xc. also i am 6ft 4'' tall so will need bike that goes up 22'' frame and something fairly strong as i am big built. cheers

Should qualify that - I have a canyon nerve am and it rides brilliantly.

Watch out with the Cube sizing, I am 6'4" as well and their 22"XL is measured from the top of the headtube I think.
I was thinking of getting a Cube HTC hardtail but found it too small (20.5" actual).
I have a 22" XL Mongoose Meteore Elite frame which fitted me perfectly but wanted to try carbon so is stripped down in the garage waiting to sell on.
Look at unusual brands as the bigger sizes are few and far beween.0
