Hi guys

I am trying to fit a front caliper to my pearson tt bike, with wing tt forks.

However the nut that goes onto the caliper, into the recess from behind is not long enough.

It just about reached the end of the caliper bolt. Anyone know where i can get a longer one from, i need 20mm i suppose!

Thanks in advance

Chris

Try your LBS. You may be shocked to know that's the kind of spare parts they sometimes keep on hand!

    SJSC.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Common problem - particularly with carbon frames that have thicker stays.
LBS should have lots of different length bolts. Mine did!

  • cool thanks guys, the problem with lbs' is that they are only open during the hours I'm at work! Without opening that can of worms!

its a shimano 105 caliper by the way,

Check to see if you have any when you buy calipers they usualy come with different length nuts.
  • I got a 23mm nut from Ribble. None in the LBSs.

About £3 for the nut and £3 for postage.

No alternative that I could see.

SRAM calipers come with about 4 different length nuts, it's very useful!
