Hi all,

Just got my new ribble sportive which is awesome except for the wheels. I got the bike through a special deal with the pro light como wheels and have always planned on upgrading them as soon as I got the bike. The options as far as I can tell are shimano RS80's or Fulcrum 3. Anyone have any reccomendations of other wheels I should be thinking about? This is my sunday best bike so I will not be using it on the commute!

Cheers,

W

Ps the comos are going on my steel project bike.

  • I recently bought the RS80's at a nice price...and they are very good indeed. I only have Ksyrium Equipes to compare them to, so wouldnt know re the Fulcrums. What group set does your new Ribble have?

Its a 105 groupset. Like the look of the RS80's myself. Shame they have done away with the red nipples though.

RS80s are fantastic wheels and super light, definitely recommended.

I'm sure they are good wheels (certainly get good reviews), but 1521g is not 'super light'.

Nice options guys. Like the look of the Mavics but they are similar weight and spec to the RS80s an more cash?

The Elites are very stiff. If climbing is a big feature of your rides, this will be a major factor. The spokes are very thin blades giving good aero on the flats.

    I love mine.

+1 for the Fulcrums. Not the sexiest and not easy to clean (cheap stickers and matt paint) but they are reliable, stiff and fast

I've got a pair of RS80s and noticed an immediate improvement on the cheaper Shimano jobs that came with my Focus Cayo. Also I've got red nipples..... I've always wanted to say that on a forum....
