I'm off to France in August with work and will be taking my bike. Any recommendations for a decent bike box??

top end - BikeBoxAlan ghet good reviews

normal end - the wiggle/DHB are fine. I've got one and it's been great. The road bike fits a bit better than the mtb though.

You can hire the Bikeboxalan or the Polaris Pod 2 Both of these are ok to buy as well, the Alan being heavier

    as above

fwiw i've got a bikeboxalan one, easy to pack, plenty of space for bottles, tools, helmet, plus some clothes. etc., (you can just call them and they'll decorate your box to order, name, flag, stickers etc., and ship it in a couple of days)

if you will travel regularly and have space to store it, then buying a box is worthwhile, but if it's just a one-off, hire is a better option

if you aren't flying then a box is overkill, for eurostar you can reserve space and put the bike on the train without a case/box

by air, international treaty limits airline liability for loss/damage to less than a thousand quid, so make sure you have adequate insurance cover just in case anything goes wrong (m&s premier home contents insurance will cover you worldwide)
