Full suss conundrum

Soooooo I am after a full susser as I cannot take the pounding of a hardtail anymore.
I am sold on either the Giant Trance X2 or Cannondale RZ140 6.
I want something I can ride all day (ie Kielder 100) as well as give a bit of hammer at a trail centre and the peaks.
Decisions, decisions!!!
And no I don't want a blimming Canyon Nerve XC

They don't make the RZ140 any more, however the RZ120 which is the trances direct rival is certainly impressing me although I'd also budget for a wider set of bars and a shorter stem to really take advantage of it !0

It's 2010 models I am looking at.0

Well I chose the 120 as it's more than enough for trail centres and offers a faster ride, though of course the 140mm has that bit extra if you need it albeit at a slight weight and pedalling efficiency penalty.0

What 120 have you got???0

I'd go for the giant . cannondale have so-so quality controls. My friend has had 4 Rush 10 frames under warranty in just over a year . The finishing kit is not quite as high as that of the giant either.0

RZ120 doesn't compare with the Trance, the RZ140 would be closer.
The RZ120 is probably slightly better for xc & long distance riding but if you want a bike that will get you around trail centres at warp speed & make you grin like an idiot on every descent then the Trance is what you want.
I have had my Trance for a year now & I think it's great. The lower bottom bracket & bottomless feeling suspension makes it really stable.
Cannondale also have a bit of a reputation for frame failures and Giants are bombproofTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Took the plunge on a 2010 Trance X2
The 'dale is ace and I think it looks mint too, but the carbon rear worries me and I don't want that niggle in the rear of my mind everytime I ride.If I had a penny for every penny. Well there would be loads of pennies0 -
