Does anyone use lightweight skewers?
And if so what do you recommend?
At the moment I'm using the DA ones which came with my DA 7850 CL wheels but like to get some lightweight ones.

Perhaps he'd like some bling on his bike, dare I say...
My only experience was using the ControlTech Ti race skewers on my mountain bike - mainly because they weren't QRs. Can't remember the exact weight but they are silly light (and silly expensive for what they are) and a road specific version is available.0 -
Planet X Ti wheel skewers 44g a pair, roughly £300

Without weighing my own, how much do regular skewers weigh?0

I also use the Control Tech ti ones.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

go on, admit it - they are sweet though arent they....
i do agree with you though - hence why i have looked at that web-page for years and not actually ordered any! - they aren't prohibitively expensive, but they don't add much value to the bike either!0 -
I am a very happy user of the cheap Planet X ti quick releases. Some of the easiest weight saving per £ that you can get on your set-up (rider excluded of course).European Cycling Trips: http://bikeplustours.com0

Two people I know did and both kept pulling their rear wheels out. Problem solved by going back to standard 'heavy duty' Shimano or Campagnolo QR skewers.0
