Topeak valve extenders

I've just started using these, but having problems pumping up the tyres using my Edinburgh Bike Co-op track pump (the Revolution Sport model). Basically no matter what I do air escapes while I'm inflating the tyres, but I'm not sure if the issue is with the seal around the pump head or the 'smart' head on the pump. I've tried some electrical tape around the end of the valve, but its doesn't seem to help. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Thanks.
More problems but still living....

Is your seal between tubular valve and extender all ok?
Otherwise worn pump head seal causing the seal not to be tight? A new pump head is only a fiver or so from CRC - buy one of their track pump repair kits and take it out of there. Should be a simple screw off screw on fix.0 -

Clinchers. The seal between the extender and valve is good I think and the pump head is new (only had it about a month and it works fine on normal valves).More problems but still living....0 -
Any PTFE tape on the valve threads? Have you tried the extenders on different valves?0

Some PTFE tape sorted it. Thanks Yossie. I bought the Topeak ones partly because I'd read that they sealed well so didn't think I'd need any tape.More problems but still living....0
