What tyres(tubeless) do you ride with these? I have tried the Maxxis LUST Monorails, but they burp at 30psi.
I have heard that UST tyres are not reccomended for these rims, but what is the point of making "No tubes" rims but ust's are a no-go?

I have Crest rims and have recently changed from Bontranger Mud X to Specialised Captin's. The mud X were amazing tyres, no problems at all and ran tubeless for a few years. Decided to go slightly wider with 2.2 Captains and cant get the air to stay in them. They stay up for about 24 hrs then deflate leaving the liquid all over the floor. The Captains are rated very highly in the tubeless version (bliss) but not convinced at the moment.

Worth a try if you can get them up

I got a normal nobby nic to hold air on crests without sealant! Held a decent pressure for a good fifteen minutes (after which I stuck the sealant in). Ralphs don't hold as well.
Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.

I just use normal Schwalbe Evo tyres. 2.1" Ralphs, Rons, Nics and Freds, all seal perfectly and hold air, had about 10 sets and never an issue on Olympics, Podiums, Crests and Roval rims. Dunno how people have problems with them! Generally run 25-30 psi, I'm fairly light admittedly.

I haven't read that UST and Stan's Rims are a no go before. They are different standards but not read or heard anything that says they shouldn't be used together.

I've used Maxis Ignitor and High Roller UST and normal tyres, Specialized Captains 2bliss with my Crest rims. I've had no problem getting either tyre to inflate or seal. I use Stans sealant and make sure I give the rim a good shake to make sure the sealant has worked its way into any gaps properly.

Maxxis Ignitor 2.35 LUST @ 28psi on Crests for 6 months - no problems - looses about 5 psi per month

It's not a no go per se, Stan's made the Crest and the Podium rims very slightly larger to make inflation easier with normal (lighter) tyres. Some UST or tubeless ready tyres (such as the new Schwalbes) can thus be incredibly tight, and not a practical pairing. They're not actually incompatible.

According to the Stan's web site (http://www.notubes.com/RecommendedTires.aspx) all UST tyres are compatible.

The issue is that they aren't required. I've asked the question this morning on another thread: "why pay 50% more for UST tyres if they're not required on ZTR rims?"

Maybe it was just a "bad" tyre. The back tire (also a LUST) is a Crossmark. This one seated ok. I will put some latex solution on the bead and try it that way.
