Any recommendations for mountain biking holiday?

I've taken mountain biking holidays in the Alps the last couple of years but this year would like to go further afield. I'm looking for something where you ride from place to place rather than staying at the same place every night.
I've been riding a couple of years and am ok but not the most confident on really technical stuff and I'm looking for a holiday that's challenging but not too hardcore! Any suggestions? Has anyone done any exodus holidays?

Would you guys recommend a 'point-to-point' type expedition holiday, or staying in one place and going out for day trips. I've heard good things about Portes du Soleil (do they convert the ski lifts to carry bikes?).

+1 british columbia friend went last year and photos are epic, but set aside a good 1.5k+ for decent trip
