Hi people,

Have just swapped my bike over from campag to shimano drive train (please see below for full setup) and whilst I can get all the gears running the chainset in the correct direction, when in the 53/12 combination if I pedal backwards the chain falls off.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please.

If I adjust the rear mech upwards to line up the chain so that the chain does not fall off it means that I can not actually shift into the 12 cog.

I didn't have this problem with the campagnolo setup and the chainset and bottom bracket has not changed (could it be incompatibility?)

Chainset/BB - Campagnolo Centaur 53/39 (9/10 speed)
Front mech - Shimano Ultegra 6600
Rear mech - Shimano Ultegra 6700
chain - Shimano Ultegra
Shifters - Shimano 10 speed bar end shifter
cassette - 12/25 SRAM 1050

Any advise greatfully received.

Thanks,

Dru.

Where does it fall off? And when you say that you can adjust the derailleur to stop it falling off, what part of it are you adjusting - limit screw or cable tension?

clarification based on first two comments.

The chain comes off of the chainset at about 4 o'clock looking side on.

With regards to the adjustment this is with the tensioner rather than the high stop.

    Hope this helps.

Have you tried setting it with the limit screw?
