Hi,

I have just ordered a Boardman Hybrid pro. It comes with a 50/34 drive train, with a 12/28 rear cassette.
Now i am over 50 i find the big hills a bit tough, can i fit a SRAM 11/32 rear cassette and if so how many extra links would i need to add to the chain.

Cheers
Basha

Not with your existing rear derailleur, you'll need one with a larger capacity.

What do you mean 'over 50'. I am 68 and can still get up most on 34/27.
Seriously though if you have SRAM gears you need a SRAM Apex rear mech. If on Shimano you need an MTB mech. Deore 9sp will do the job fine. You can use a 9sp mech on 10sp with no trouble. As for chain length you would need a new longer chain set up for the mech you are using.
If you really want to go down this road and have not yet taken delivery of the bike talk to the shop and see if they will do the work for you. They could recover and re-use the parts removed.
