Campag freehub wobble

Hello Chums,
While installing a new cassette (oh the illicit thrill of clean cogs..ahem), noticed that there was a very slight play in the freehub. With cogs on it manifests itself as a mill-worth of side to side movement and a very slight knocking.
Is this normal? Can it be adjusted out? Or is it time for a new one (the wheel is only three years old, with c. 6000 miles on it).
