Alloy corrosion?

I wiped what I thought was grease off the alloy stem on my carbon TCR2 to discover that it was actually a white powder crumbling from the stem. There isn't much but I am alittle concerned that the corrosion will continue and weaken the stem. Is it worth changing the stem or am I being paranoid?

it could be due to salt spray from the winter having got in there, or simply moisture and dssimilar metals in contact

    check where/how much is corroded

if it's just cosmetic, you can take some steps to stop any more...

apply some antisieze to any contact points with other metals, i.e. bolts etc.

put some acf-50 on the corroded area, it'll neutralize it and protect against more, repeat each year
