New Crankset - Is a new BB required
I have a Specialised Allez 2010 road bike currently with a triple chainset Shimano 2300 on a square tapered 68mm x 113 mm BB.
This is what is on there now -

but I want to upgrade it to a compact, which is this one -

I am upgrading from a triple to a compact and will do it piecemeal for now. The first purchase is to upgrade the chainset and then the front mech, rear mech, shifters etc at a later date.
Will the new Chainset be compatible without any other upgrade for now, will it work fine on the BB that I have? Or is there another chainset that would be more compatible without the need for a new BB?

You'll need a new BB because the new chainset uses a different design of bearing arrangement to what you presently have fitted.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
