Now in work after battling mahoosive headwind.

Pondering bacons. Bacons make everything seem better.

    Morning Benders

Uni today, few really basic lectures on animal husbandry so it should be fairly relaxed today. Lots of revision to do later though after an amazing weekend away on tour.

Anyway off to the post office to see if they've got a parcel for me, they've not left a card but is should have been delivered over a week ago so my guess is they're being lazy cnuts.

OK coffee starting to take affect now.

So yesterdays Epic ride was Epic. but didnt take any pictures so it didnt happen.

New bike is a great laugh to point and throw down big hills which i have really missed, but i realise with this added speed i am under braked (see just orderd thread)
loving the dry fast trails at the moment, i hope it stays like this for the next race in 2 weeks?

No2's birthday next weekend so got to buy something fun and not too noisey for her, Pool party planned, and Papa has orderd a new water slide for the pool so that should be fun for the kids

Other than that going to pop over to my brothers and "test" his sofa for comfyness later as he's still in Oz and need to make sure my neice hasnt burned the new house to the ground?

Anywhoo time to pretend to work

G'day freaks, far too tired today, long ride yesterday afternoon after the weekends motorsport, which, considering it's usually boring as fook in barcelona, wasn't too bad. Somehow managed to lose a chainring bolt, but it gives me an excuse to buy a new set of green ones, pointless bling ftw!! This week shall be fairly manic, but today I shall be taking it easy and consuming lots of caffeine, but no bacons

    Peace out peeps

As if the horrendous weather wasn't bad enough, all the fire alarms just went off here.

Still, as Fire Marshal ( ) I did get to stay in the building a bit longer than other folk.

Turns out the dirty smokers have been standing too close to the doors in order to escapr the weather, and that's what caused it.

    Anyway, mornings all.

Today will be filled with meh. My day will mostly consist of willing the wind to die down, and waiting for 5pm.
Tomorrow on the other hand.......team day out, bowling! :D

    Good Morning Freaks!

Well, where did the weekend go?

A tad breezy on the ride in this morning, not as bad as anticipated, but if the weather forecasters (who are renowned liars) are to be believed, it’s going to be much, much worse later. But, after yesterdays ride fail, I’ve got to get the mileage in this week if I’m going to hit 900 miles for the month. If I’m honest, I don’t think I’ll get there though and will probably end up around the 850 mark.

Also, the Focus is taking a bit of a battering with all this extra mileage I’m doing, bless it. I have already ‘flatted’ the rear tyre, which has only been on there since March! And, whilst we’re on about tyres, is anyone else (who rides regularly on the road) noticing their tyres are basically ‘cut to ribbons’ ? I switched to Conti Hardshells from Gatorskins in March due to the Gatorskins constantly puncturing. I’m now getting the same from the Hardshells which have loads of cuts in them. I’m getting through loads of super-glue fixing the cuts!

It’s really going to have to be stripped down and rebuilt next weekend – new tyres, cables, brake shoes, BB and cranks. Service (and probably new bearings) the hubs, pedals and headset. Front wheel has a slight buckle in it, but that’s going to have to wait until my wheel-builder is back from holiday to fix.

After staying up late last night for the “CBS 60 Minutes” twitter-fest*, I’m feeling a bit tired, so coffee will be keeping me ‘motivated’ for the rest of the day.

Going to be a busy one at work today, with a visit by our new Minister and a few meetings (which will obviously include much coffee) to attend.

    Laters…

*For those that don’t follow roadie cycling, Tyler Hamilton, one of Lance Armstrong’s former team mates was being interviewed on the US TV show “60 Minutes”. He was corroborating Floyd Landis’ statements from last year about widespread use of performance enhancing drugs by the US Postal Service team and specifically by Lance Armstrong himself. There were a few cycling journalists and various other cycling ‘characters’ commenting on twitter whilst the programme aired. I’ll watch the full programme on-line later.

    El Cap,

LA was the most tested cyclist in the sport. Even of these allegations were true, doping occurs in almost every physical sport. LA has made his name and will always be the legend we know irrespective of the rumours! He never failed a drugs test :¬)

    Morning all!
With it being the day after the night before, I'm slightly hungover, I'm slowly coming back to life though, so all is good.
I really cba with today, some meetings cancelled, others created and all the time being asked questions. Waaahhhh  Leave me alone!

Tonight I think fettling is in order. I want the Blender up and running properly for some fun in the woods.

    morning all!

top weekend here, have to say, from the trails I rode yesterday you would not have known there was a fire in Swinley, so still gutted that it happened but happy that the bits I like are ok.

Didn't realise Tyler Hamilton was on TV last night, think it's strangely coincidental that both of the people accusing Armstrong were convicted of drug cheating before they made their revelations.

I am biased as I'm a huge Armstrong fan, but thr UCI wanted to bust him so badly, I can't see how they wouldn't have caught him if he were actually using banned substances.

    Crap morning so far.

Overslept, went into uni for an exam, had the absolute galloping trots about half an hour in, which meant I was out of the exam room for about 20 minutes, and generally did fecking awfully on the exam due to feeling like crap.

On the plus side, Boost (energy drink maker) were doing a promotion on campus, so me and a mate got a ride halfway home in a rickshaw, and promptly started making tentative plans for a rickshaw site-seeing business in Birmingham.

He meant 'Fight seeing'. The plan presumably is to go up and down Broad street of a night time and stop at every fight...

    Afternoon all

I learnt yesterday that MTB + Slicks + lazy owner deciding to keep 34t front chainring = not quite as fast as a road bike, but 50 miles in 3hrs 4 minutes isn't that bad.
Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.

2001 Tour de Swiss? Positive for EPO was covererd up by the UCI after Armstrong made a $25,000 'donation'.

There are many, many more people who have accused Armstrong of doping.

As was I. Then I started doing a bit of research. The yellow wristband I'd worn for over two years was taken off and cut up into little pieces. I'm not a 'hater' as described by some, its just that I don't believe the lies anymore.

tbh it strikes me as something I'll never know the truth on as both sides of the argument are capable of considerable misdirection

what baffled me was Landis, he fought for so many years to clear his name, the cost must have been huge and then he comes out and says 'ok, actually I did do it'

but then I have no identification with anyone who takes performance enhancing drugs.
