Triple to Double

I'm really interested in buying a BeOne Mistral from Chain Reaction Cycles but it comes with an (Ultegra) triple chainset. I was wondering how easy it would be to swap this for a (105) double chainset. Is it simply a matter of buying a new FD and chainset or are there complications? E.g are the shifters specific?

Help much appreciated.

Ah ok, thanks. Do you know if you need a special tool to remove/fit these bottom brackets?

afaik megaexo bb is ok with hollowtech ii chainsets, so you can keep the bb i think

shimano triple shifters usually work ok with doubles - i've done two different triple->double conversions with different shimano shifters, no issues

it's just the trim function you get on a proper double shifter won't be there, but you may find the middle position works ok for trim, but if you get the set-up ok trim is often not needed anyway
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny

Question is, though, why do you want to change? Triples confer quite a few advantages and not many disadvantages...

and what 20g heavier? Got two triples and a double, could live with a double I think, but triple does come in handy. Would struggle carrying heavy load on a double, uphill.
