Mavic Aksium Puncture Problem

Hello all, I have had a set of Aksiums for about 2 years now, I used them once and took them off the bike. This week I put them back on but have had problems with the front wheel puncturing just at the base of the valve. I have looked for sharp edges etc but cant seem to find any and didnt have this problem the first time I used them. Has anybody any suggestions or experienced this problem with the wheels???? I just wanna get out and ride whith them!!!!!Thanks in advance.

    Have a quick check and see if the rim tape is covering the edges of the hole in the rim where the valve feeds through - I used to have issues on a couple of sets of tubes where the tube would catch on an edge when it was inflated.

    Simple 100% safe solution is to run a couple of strips of normal insulation tape over the hole (fits the internal diameter of the rim perfectly) then do a very small cut in the tape: you then feed the valave through the cut and will be fine forever more.

    There is probably a more official way to do this but I have doen this for years and never had a problem.
