Hi all - I've been riding for a while now, gradually building my fitness etc.

I've come to the point where I want to upgrade my bike. I've spotted this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... Track=true

I'm looking for your wisdom! Does it look like a good purchase? (obviously it will probably go up in price as it's an auction). If it doesn't look like a good 'un do can you recommend where I should look for a good bike?

If I go ahead, I'll do all the sensible stuff like get a ride etc first.

Look forward to hearing what you think.

Cheers

Have you purchased from this seller as they have had lots of new bikes in the past selling at very low prices and they all said selling on behalf of a friend. :?

You wont go wrong with a Specialized top bikes.

If your looking for somewhere cheap to pick up a bike try googling for police auctions. Went to one recently with a mate and he picked up a very nice Trek hardtail for £80 + 16% commision for his son. At the same sale I bought a Mercury outboard engine for £110 + 16% and very nearly stuck my hand up for a 48 inch plasma TV till I remembered it wouldnt have fitted in the car

Just got a Spesh P1 off ebay for the lad for £120, sold cheap as it had a problem with the rear gears, problem was a 9 speed cassette with 8 speed shifters, so on went an old 7 from the BoS (with spacer) and it's sorted and now he's looking for a 9speed shifter and chain!
