Stiff neck on drops

I find my bike pretty comfortable except when I use the drops, usually when descending. I have to tilt my head back so far to see ahead that it's uncomfortable and I get a stiff neck the next day. I do wear a peaked cap which probably makes this problem worse but so do lots of other riders. I'm quite happy with the other handlebar positions which would be too high if I raised the bars. Is hyper extension of my neck something I will get used to over time?

if you wear the peaked cap all the time, then you may need to adjust your position. Yes you can/will get used to a less than optimum position, but it may cause additional problems in the future.

I wear an mtb helmet with peak, I adjusted my riding position to allow for this.

I have the same problem. I've put my stem to the top of the steerer to compensate.

Try doing exercises to stretch your neck too.
