Hi Y'all
I'm looking for some new SPD's and i'm currently stuck between Shimano M647's and the XTR M985's.
I want something that i can use unclipped on the trickier bits of the trails.
I plan on using the SH56 cleats (easier exiting!!).
You guys have any thoughts on which pedals would be better all round? Have the XTR got good support if you are unclipped?
I think the big S is also releasing an XT version of the XTR soon? again do you think the 647's would better suit?

Your poll seems somewhat unrelated to your question.

647s like having a couple of house bricks on the end of your cranks. 985s allegedly very good but wait til July/Aug for some M530s or some M785s.

i dont see the point in either, whats the need for the platform bit? its not like it lets you ride unclipped. unneeded weight if you ask me.

I use Shimano M520, M424 and M647 Pedals, the 647 works best for me off road as I like the feel of the platform and for reasons unknown the 647 finds the cleat easier.

Its down to personal choice if you like caged spd,s its only by trying them will you find which you prefer.
