Can anyone clarify if you can change a Shimano freehub to a campag freehub - wheels in question are a set of Campag Neutrons on Record hubs with a Shimano freehub.
I keep reading about it not being very straight fwd, so if someone can either confirm or deny then I can get about finding a campag hub/give up on this one!

thanks

If they're campag hubs then i'm sure it'll take a campag hub body, but you're right it's not that easy a job to do. Someone with experience would not find it a bother, so you'll have to weigh up if you have the know how and the tools to do in the 1st place!!

it'll def be going to LBS - I know my limitations when it comes to certain tasks, learnt the hard way more than once!
Toying with an Ambrosio cassette now as the make em for Shimano hubs but with Campag spacing - £40 so might be the pocket friendly option i reckon

They're dead easy to change, see section 4.3 of the instructions here.

At £78 for the freehub body though maybe the Ambrosio cassette is worth a try!

    Hi

I've done it the other way round (Campag to Shimano) on my Scirrocos & i refered to the campag website for info on how to strip the rear axle & swapped it myself - was a bit of a bitch for getting the pawls into place, in the end i used a strand of wire from a brake cable to wrap around the pawls to keep them in place & that done the trick.

    Hope this helps
