Trek Fit Service

My local Alpine Bikes offers this and, TBH, we're no exactly spoilt for choice up here when it comes to bike fitting. Any opinions?

I've only been a roadie for the last year or so and bought both my bikes by mail. I think I do OK and I have no injuries or pains but it would be good to know that I have it set up broadly right so I know where I'm going in the future.

I don't see the point of a fit service if the shop only sells off the peg Trek bikes... I know my size even without their fancy jig. It would be interesting if at least they could give you the right stem length, longer/shorter fork steerer, right crank length, but I suspect all they do is to flog you a size 54 rather than a 56... a quick test on the road would give you a better feel for what size is right for you.
Most of these fitting devices don't say much... maybe they do if one is built weird, or there is an orthopedic problem to correct (then you need some qualified staff) but for the average person they're pretty useless

    My opinion, of course...

Well - I've seen their fitting gear which includes a range of handlebar widths and stems amongst other things. I'm assuming it's a fitting service to adjust seat height, position, bars, cleats etc. Since I want it done on my Focus, I'm also assuming it's not just for Treks (but that's an assumption). It's a 2-hour process.
