Hi - does anyone have Michelin ProRace3 tyres in the tobacco / digital blue colour combination?

and do you have any pictures of this tyre on your / a bike?

or if not - can you say if it looks OK on the bike you saw it on?

I have a bit of a thing for them but i'm not sure why - i think quirky tyres are cool and bit of a change fromthe usual black hoops or black with red stripes! - my bike is mainly red and black (a 2008 s-works roubaix) so the tyres would be a considerable contrast - i'm trying to work out if it will be "quirky" or just plain horrible!

any thoughts?

also - these are replacing a set of vittoria Corsa Evos and I have always ben a vittoria guy! - am i likely to be disapointed as a tyre choice? do they have puncture resistance on par (roughly) with the vittorias?

thanks in advance

Also think it would look rubbish.

    Great tyres otherwise though.

Ha ha - just a little too late - bought them this afternoon and will hopefully fit this evening!

    Ah well

They are brighter than I was expecting! We will soon see what they look like - I'll post some pictures and we can alll laugh or admire as appropriate!

Well, if it doesn't work, you can always go and get a tobacco and blue bike to match the tyres

anyway - we have some pictures - i've fitted them!

Before i post them on photobucket - some observations.

the vittorias they replace 'feel' like a much higher quality tyre than the ProRace3s. the also practically fell off the rims (campag Eurus) and i have no doubt that they would have went on very easily - that said the prorace went on pretty well too and I'm sure they will be better after then have been on the rims for a few hours / days.

The vittorias bead and part that is no visible cos it's in the wheel rim, is a fabric material and this goes all the way inside the tyre across the entire width - could this be the kevlar lining they claim to have? - the prorace3s are simply rubber - but they do feel like good quality rubber at that. Finally the profile of the prorace3s 'appears' to be more "pointy" in profile (inflated to 110psi same as vittorias) - they remind me of a specialized tyre i used to have on my langster a long time ago. This could just be because the vittorias had worn though.

anyway - do i like the look of them? - Hmmm - yeah, kind of - i think they look pretty cool. and if i turn out to hate them, well, i'll have made more expensive mistakes in life eh? - here's the pics:

I think they could work on certain bikes (probably something steel) but to me they don't look right on a red/black carbon bike

Silver wheels don`t look right on the bike either

I`ve got the digi blue / black tyres on my blue/white/carbon Roob, with black Ksyrium wheels, looks proper :)

really? what makes you say that? - you need to try them - they are the best investment i made to the bike - cinelli neo-morphe - great handlebars - so comfy.
