Tapered intergrated headset
Hey,
I'm trying to get some compression on the lower bearing.. ( i believe it's a nil tools job (possibly))..... and it's just not working... advice/help please.
It's a Giant TCR adv Sl 2010 frame so a full carbon fork and a FSA headset
Rgds

Headset press will do the job ( if you have one ). Otherwise i have used a shimano bottom bracket tool that fits the outside edge of the bearing and tapped it (gently) into place. Haven't had an issue with them yet....touch wood.0

Depends on headset configuration - but most integrated headset bearings on road frames simply drop-in rather than needing a press - should be a light tap at most. In terms of getting the right 'load' also check that fork bung isn't slipping and that steerer cap isn't bottoming-out on the top of the fork steerer - try adding a spacer under the cap to see if it makes a difference.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
