Velox rim tape

Want to change my rim tape sometimes I've noticed with adhesive rim tape, tyre pressure causes dents in your spokes, opens rim tape and causes flats. Friend recommended Velox, says "best tape ever'
Question on size I have 15 x 622 wheels so I thought naturally I need Velox 15mm, they don't make this size! They come in 17mm for road or 13mm. Will this cause me problems, or will 17mm tape rim fit on 15mm comfortably?
For example Vittoria have 15mm for 15x622 but not Velox!

13mm is fine - you only need it to cover the holes in the rim bed. If you used the 17mm it would impinge where the tyre bead seats, probably making it very difficult to get your tyres off and on.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

I'd say the opposite. 17mm is what I use in standard width road rims, with no problems. It ensures the spoke holes are always covered. When mounting tyres, the bead falls into the centre, this is where rim tape has an impact and this is a function of tape thickness, not width.0

I agree with Monty - you don't want anything to impinge on the tyre fitting the rim.
Velox is indeed the daddy of all rim tape too - accept no substitutes!0
