Never thought I'd be saying that!
Anyway, I got a pair of Specialized Experts last week and managed to finally get out with them today. After re-starting cycling a couple of years ago, I initially bought some Diadora Aero road shoes, then upgraded to some Northwaves last year, but still felt like they weren't what I wanted.
Finally took the plunge and I have to say that the difference is very, very noticeable.
They feel great on my feet (I did have BG soles in the NW's) and are so comfortable. I used to get numb toes/pins and needles, but after a 24 mile run today my feet were fine, no aches, numbness, discomfort at all.
I love the Boa closing system. So easy to use and adjust when still clipped in. They feel very secure on my feet.
The biggest difference is the sole/power transfer. I was surprised by how much less effort it took to keep the same speed up as I normally do and when I wanted to turn the power on, although I was putting in the effort - it felt, well easy. Don't know how else to describe it. A massive difference from my previous shoes and I would strongly advise that shoes are a good investment/upgrade.
For me, they were not cheap at £150, as much as some wheels sets, but I feel that I'll benefit more from these than some new wheels or another upgrade that I could have chosen to do. So pleased I decided on them over the Fulcrum 7's I was contemplating. They'll be my next buy, but for now I'm going to enjoy my cycling with comfortable feet!!!

Welcome to my world! (Never underestimate how good a new pair of shoes can make you feel!)
I too got new Specialized shoes this week and they are just fabulous - women's pro carbon. I think they must be the 2010 model as they were reduced from £170 to £100. They feel great - very light and stiff and much better than my old Specialized shoes. It took a couple of rides to get the fastening right (had them too tight initially and was getting a lot of foot ache but like you, I like being able to adjust them while I'm clipped in). I also did my fastest ever ride this week, altho I put that down to the tail wind - maybe it was the shoes after all.
