Hey,

As the title might suggest, just got a set of SPD-SL shoes and pedals, and Im not sure if there is any adjustment to seat height needed after the change due to height increase because of bigger cleats/pedals..

what are your experiences?

Yup, with SPD-SL noticed a difference so had to increase my seat post by about 1cm.

There is very little difference. I change my winter bike from SPD to SPD-SL each summer and never have to move the seat. If you have cheaper shoes for SPD then the stack is likely to be greater needing the seat higher with them. My SPD Spec BGs have much the same stack as my road ones on SLs.

I have different make of shoes and regularly change from SPD-SL to SPD and immediately notice the difference.

Probably best to measure from the centre of the ankle bone rather then the pedal axis to the seat if you want to compare.

It depends on the thickness of the shoe sole. The actual stack from spindle to top of the cleat is very similar. With my carbon soled shoes there is no noticeable difference but with my old Shimano ones there is about 3mm which is noticeable.
