YES! - I've just bought a new bike frame of ebay and am about to start a build.

So far I've ordered;

Frame/Forks - A bamboo and alloy frame of ebay in the US with carbon forks - This is what started the project, I've never seen a bamboo frame before!

Stem/Bars - I'll transfer the alloy Planet X bars and stem from my carbon bike and have ordered a 1 piece carbon bars and stem from ebay in China for the Carbonator.

Wheels - Planet X Model B - I already own a pair which are light and straight

Groupset - Campagnolo Veloce in silver with a compact chainsset and a 13-29 cassette to help make up for my lack of climbing ability on the hills. I have Centaur on my carbon bike and was surprised that groupsets seem to have gone up quite a lot since I made those purchases. I think Veloce will be fine for this build and it'll make use of my Campag BB tool!

Seatpost - Planet X alloy to match the bar and stem

I think that's all of the major items. I'll need a headset, seat clamp, tyres, tubes, rim tape, handlebar tape, saddle and pedals but they aren't such major items and will be mostly ebay purchases.

I'm thinking a brown saddle and bar tape to match the bamboo; possibly Brooks but probably lower cost - a brown Charge Spoon saddle maybe and brown cork bar tape.

I'll have to tot up the cost but the whole bike should cost about £1,000, a luxury but I think it'll look good and will hopefully be a good ride, I hope the parts start arriving soon! I'll post a picture when I get to build it.
