Hi all

Thought I would post my ride, I recognise a lot of usernames from other forums so apologies in advance if you've seen the pics posted elsewhere.

The bike started life as a 105 triple with RS10 wheels. Unfortunately I had an injury and operation last year that took me out of action for nearly 6 months - so to cheer myself up I rebuilt the frame from scratch over the xmas hols and finally finished (for the time being) in March ready to start riding again.

Since the photos were taken I have finished tweaking the position now I have put a load of miles on her but they are only small changes (bars rotated forwards and some spacers removed). The bike is awesome to ride



My dog Lily took a keen interest in the stick that was propping the bike up, it fell over twice whilst setting up (not on the dog thankfully)





The 3T fork doesn't quite match the pearl white of the frame but it's not far off and you can only really tell in dull light. I have found the paint code for the frame and may get it resprayed to match at some point

Nothing fancy here. Pace RC31 and RC36 / Mix of XT M740 & M770 & STX RC / v brakes / Easton / x-lite / Flite Kevlar / Mavic XC517 / IRC Mythos XC

25 lbs 7oz with the RC36's and 23lbs 10oz with RC31

i dont like the bars, seatpost saddle and colourscheme, the rest is nice.

Very pretty. One of the nicest colourways the CAAD9 was offered in (IMO) and one I still regret not purchasing at the time.

I thought pretty hard about the Soloist frameset, but the lack of a local test ride put me off even though they get great reviews. I took the 9 out for an hour on the country lanes and was smitten. I can't see me changing for a while either

Thanks. Contact points are a very personal choice though eh? I have to say the SLR is the most comfy saddle I have ever ridden though. Since the photos were taken I have rotated the bars forward and removed a spacer.

My cat also thought it would be awesome to chew the crap out of my bar tape so I need to redo that now, what is worse is he also spent time gnawing on the end of the Ultegra shifters so the left one is pretty scratched and has tooth marks in :evil:

Thank you. The BBQ black was an option but I hadn't seen many of the white and red colourways, however it did mean sacrificing BB30 and the SI SL cranks. If it makes you feel better the white is a bitch to keep clean, every single fleck of oil and speck of dirt shows up so it's doing nothing for my OCD

I have the Liquigas 2010 CAAD9 - and a fairly white Izoard - so I can appreciate keeping it pristine isn’t easy. “It encourages good bike maintenance” is my excuse for whittling away the hours with a cloth et al.

The red decals on the '09 CAAD9 are "Race Red, Dupont chip #P34567" and the white paint is "DUPONT IMRON 6000 L3874"

Still a few odds and sods to go on - KMC X10SL (getting the last few miles worth of wear from my 6700 chain over winter), Carbon Ti headset cap and x-plug expander (on order), TRP shoes + SwissStop yellow kings, Garmin Cadence Sensor.

Weight as pictured with Garmin 800 = 7128g / 15.71 lbs, weight without Garmin 800 = 7030g / 15.49 lbs

Please note that some of these weights are educated guesses as I haven't stripped the frame back to completely bare with no cable hanger, dérailleur hanger or removed the headset, but wherever possible I have weighed parts. Any guesses are mentioned in the notes column, or taken from manufacturers websites or other weenies
