Any recent bike purchasers from Ribble?

Has anyone recently bought a bike from Ribble.

Ordered my Sportive about 2 weeks ago and phoned last week to check on delivery times.

They said they didn't have the deda components I'd requested in stock, and would I be OK with ITM instead, so I said yes.

Anyhow, they said the bike would be 2 to 3 weeks. Just wondering, given some of the threads on Ribble's 'quoted' delivery times, if anyone had bought recently from Ribble and they had managed to turn the bike around in their expected timeframes?

Also, did they call\email you a couple of days prior to dispatch to tell you it was nearly ready, or on the day it was complete?

Thanks,
FJ

    hhmmm.

I ordered my special edition just before Easter weekend with white deda kit.

Havent heard anything yet, but even companies with the highest perceived levels of communication would struggle with four bank holidays in under 2 weeks, on top of all the cycle scheme vouchers issued since the new tax year.

I'm desperate for my bike but not desperate enough to buy a significantly lesser specced bike from LBS. I also ordered with Ribble with my research done & eye's open, so no complaints yet!

Although I reserve the right to moan later if I have a REALLY long time to wait!

You might want to contact them about the bike then.

When I spoke to them they said they were really struggling to get a hold of all deda stuff, as I asked if they had any black (I also ordered white) and they said no.

They'd had my money for a week before I called them and they mentioned the lack of deda stuff, so didn't contact me directly, I had to call them.

My New Sportive was out of the door about a week after the Cyclescheme voucher got to them (this was back in March). It was a special edition bike with the stock finishing kit but a groupset upgrade to Athena (I checked everything in the GS was in stock before ordering)

My Sportive Bianco took 2 weeks from them receiving my voucher. They phoned on the day of receipt of the voucher, took the admin charge and informed me the white Deda stem was out of stock so they upgraded me to the ITM. They also told me to phone one week later to get a delivery date. The following day they phoned me to say the white Deda stem was out of stock so upgraded me to the ITM (nice, as they match).

I phoned one week later and was given a build day (a Bank Holiday, impressive) and a despatch date.

Received it on Thursday, no problems at all, on schedule. Delivery was 2 days, using Parcel Force.

I received an e-mail the day after I received the bike saying it had been dispatched. Their website did not keep me informed of where the bike was in the build process, as others have said it does.

However, despite that small glitch their service was excellent, and they kept me informed by phone and stuck to their delivery dates. I'm very pleased.

Ordered my Gran Fondo on Saturday 2nd April in store and was told build time was 2 weeks. I stressed that I needed the bike to train for an upcoming event and the guy in the shop did a stock check on all the components there and then which showed everything was available. I had chosen ITM components rather than Deda.

I got a phone call on Monday 11th to say it was ready for collection, so absolutely no complaibts from me on the ordering and delivery side of things.

They turned my Gran Fondo around quicker than the timescales quoted on the website. Can't remember actual dates but about 3 weeks from posting the C2W voucher to delivery. That period crossed over the New Year so pretty good.

OK, so sounds like they seem to be turning them around pretty quick, which is good news.

Got my Sportive Bianco a week after they received my Cyclescheme voucher. They told me that they have four mechanics building bikes and are trying to keep within a two-week delivery period.

Accounts phoned me today to collect the additional balance (like delivery, service charge, etc). I'm now officially in the list for build. :D

I mentioned the deda thing - they said that they are trying really hard to turn around orders as close to the 2week mark as possible so if the stock isnt in by that deadline, they will probably contact me for alternatives rather than delaying further.

    All good so far!

I'm guessing when dispatched they send an email with a tracking no.?

Yes, but my e-mail arrived after I received the bike! If you login to their website you can check your order and it will show a despatch date and tracking number. They used ParcelForce 48 for me, not sure if that is what they use for everyone.
