Why is it that Specialized bikes are at the top, but yet they are so ugly! I considered buying one but it totally put me off looking at the frame. Explain! :D

Spesh bikes tend to look better in real life than on the photos.

The venge for example looks ghastly in pics but I saw one today in Ambleside and it looks very nice indeed

Other bikes look lovely in pics but less good in real life

Don't think having likes of Cavendish, the Schlecks, and Contador, not forgetting Cancellara does any harm either.

I have a roubaix, and it is great to ride, but a lot of their success is due to slick marketing I think.

I quite like the look of some of the Specialized's, don't know if i'd get one due to the fact that they're everywhere, I do however like the look of the Roubaix Expert SL3 & Pro SL3 with the internal cable routing.

The only thing I dislike about the look of my Allez, is that the brake cable "hangs" below the curved top tube, rather than being internally routed, which ruins the look a little.

Know exactly what you mean.. Years back Spesh bikes were awsome with great colour schemes, the Sworks was always a work of art, I have owned 5 specialized bikes and wouldnt have anything else!.. until I got back into bikes 2 years ago. Went to buy an Epic MTB and ended up with a Trek, just didnt like the look. They have gone very plain and boring.. paying all that money I like bikes to stand out and say seomthing.

Found the same when looking for a road bike.

Considering 2010 Roubaixs range in price from £1649 to £5699 new, I'd say yes if it fits you and is mechanically sound.......
