I was trying to change my crankset, Dura Ace 7800, but I can't remove the crank arm adjustment cap. I have a Park Tool BBT-9, so was going at it with the plastic end, but it's just on too tightly. Any suggestions? Is there another tool I can buy or technique which will give me more leverage?

you mean the allen key ones on the crank arm? If so, yes!

  • You need to undo the bolts a little way and flick the weird little washer thingy upwards (Shimano call it the stopper-plate). Get a small flat-head screwdriver into the crease which splits the LH crank and push upwards and the stopper-plate disengages. Then the plastic nut thingy will unscrew much easier.

    Apologies for my uber-technical parlance.
